2017 Travel Tryouts (8U,9U,11U) Extra Tryout

Extra Tryout Session Oct 2

The ABL will be conducting an additional tryout for the 2017 travel season for the 8U and 9U travel teams. A second team has been created at 11U and additional spots have opened for that team roster. In order to fill these team rosters, tryouts will be extended to nonresident as well as residents for the 2017 baseball season. The tryouts will be conducted on October 2, 2016 at the Indoor Facility 1337 State Route 43 (entrance is around back of building) from 5 to 7 PM. Pre registration is not required.

2017 Travel Tryout Registration

Welcome to the 2017 Travel Tryouts:

  • Please enter the email address during registration that you want used for primary communication of tryout results
  • MUST attend at least 1 tryout (please contact travel director if unable to attend due to injury or unforeseen circumstance)
  • May attend both tryouts (scores will be averaged)
  • Pre-registration required
  • We will attempt to field as many teams as possible per age division depending on the number of players who meet minimum requirements
  • All tryouts will be held at Sunny Lake Park Fields (12,13,14)
SESSION I - SATURDAY JULY 30TH

SESSION II - SUNDAY AUG 21ST (Re-scheduled)

12:30 - 1:00 PM CHECK-IN & WARMUP
1:00 - 2:30 PM TRYOUT

2:30 - 3:30 PM

PITCHING / CATCHING (OPTIONAL)

3:30 - 4:00 PM CHECK-IN & WARMUP
4:00 - 5:30 PM TRYOUT
5:30 - 6:30 PM PITCHING / CATCHING (OPTIONAL)

 

  • Roster invitations will be sent via email by August 21st
  • $150 non-refundable deposit is due by August 25th or roster spot is forfeited
  • Balance is due by Dec 1 (payment plans are available)
  • 8U - $350 (Includes deposit, uniforms additional cost)
  • 9U-14U - $575 (Includes deposit, uniforms additional cost)
  • Teams participating in destination tournaments like The Ripken Experience at Myrtle Beach or Cooperstown will have additional costs and fundraising needs.

Players will be evaluated by an Independent Organization in the following areas:

1.  Running Speed

2.  Arm Strength/Accuracy

3.  Fielding - Infield (ground balls); Outfield (fly balls)

4.  Hitting (Technique, Contact, Power)

5.  Baseball fundamentals (form, footwork, technique, movement to ball)

6.  Pitching/Catching (9U and older) - optional

7.  Attitude and Hustle
